How is the micro laser peel different from microdermabrasion?

Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer (stratum corneum). The mechanism is essentially the same as a carpenter using sandpaper to smooth rough wood. Microdermabrasion is typically performed by an esthetician or beautician who regulates the depth of the peel by how much pressure is applied during the process. How often does a micro laser peel need to be done?

Laser skin treatments must be performed at least 4 weeks apart. Since the micro laser peel has a cumulative effect, we have found a series of 3-5 low level peels can accomplish the same stunning result a deeper, resurfacing peel without requiring weeks of downtime. Once you achieve your desired results, micro laser peel treatments can be repeated every 6-12 months to maintain optimal appearance and texture. Dr. Cohen will determine the best possible strategy and settings for your personalized treatment program.
